While I patiently wait for the new Polysics album to leak today, take a look at the singles off this album. There’s no US street date so far, hopefully Tofu Records will announce it before summer.
This is a rock band from Singapore that’s sings in peeerfect English. I’ve been listening to them on myspace since the summer for the lack of finding any of their tunes elsewhere. They’re going to be playing at SXSW 2007. “Love in the New Wave” is available to download on their artist page for free.
This is a nice piano-pop/rock song that’s used as the opening theme for the anime Nodame Cantabile. I first heard of this band on the Mosh Pit On Disney compiliation with their cover of “Part of Your World” from the Little Mermaid (don’t laugh ^o^). I’m sure that as the episodes roll on this song will get stuck in my head more frequently.
When I picked up my copy of Dir en grey’s new album last Tuesday I knew something wasn’t right…I couldn’t read half the lyrics! I think about 4-5 were actually visible under a light but the rest were barely even visible. Well, Warcon Records has acknowledged this flaw on myspace and directs you to the Warcon website to “get your hands on the proper booklet.” However it’s been a day since they posted it and there’s still nothing on the website about it which makes me wonder if they’re serious. In any case this album has had better distribution than “Withering to Death.” I found it quite easily at Best Buy and Borders and they still don’t have the prior album in stock.
I just found this band last night. Apparently they named themselves after a line from “Revenge of the Nerds.” Musically they are similar to bands like Sparta Locals.
Vote for your favorite Japanese artists for your chance to win cds from JapanFiles. There is also mp3 streaming for each artist. It would appear that JapanFiles is co-sponsering it as well since half of the artists nominated are theirs >.<
My new home for posting about Japanese and other Asian bands. I’ll mostly be posting news and videos. Who knows, maybe a review or two will come out of me in the future.
