J-Rock Fridays Vol. 26August 6, 2010
Welcome to my world.
Dropping your pants is a good way to start a video. They sort of remind me of Maximum the Hormone, with the alternating chaos and happy go lucky J-Pop.
385- “Nomiso Arao”
This is exactly what I wanted the new midori album to sound like. It’s the new band from Miya of Bleach 03 and what do you know they’re the first artist signed to Mariko Goto’s (midori) new label Hakai Music. Miya looks and sounds a lot like Goto so I thought it was her at first but this is just as good.
noanowa- “Mole Is A Bird”
This little song about flying moles has made me happy. I thought she would burst into “A Whole New World” with some of those high notes but it turned into a nice melody. Oh oh oh oh oh.
Egnish- “No. 8”
This is a video about a pickup truck delivering a figure 8, which may or may not be two giant rolls of toilet paper, across the countryside.
Schloder- “kiss me baby”
Gotta love those matching hoodies. There’s a lot of kissing in this video, but the band doesn’t get none.
Paraele Stripes- “Prototype”
“I’m going f*ckin crazy!” That’s exactly what I say to get the club bouncing. Watch the harrowing adventures of the diamond thief snatcher.
Quruli- “Magic Carpet”
Enjoy the smooth sound of Quruli, which I just learned is Japanese for Beatles. Kind of a pretentious band name if you ask me.
These guys want to be 18 again. Call up Zac Efron.
The Peelanders head to greener pastures to cover childrens favorite “Old Macdonald Had A Farm.” This isn’t random at all.
M Attack 40s- ツイストばぁちゃん
Nice to see group sounds coming back. Do the twist!
Cold kitchen wiped out the competition last week. White white sisters and the telephones put up a good fight.
What three bands with survive this death match?
