J-Rock Fridays Vol. 106

August 9, 2013

chaqq- “Amy”

Four Amys for three chaqqs. This isn’t a competition. Just watch the girls smile and dance.

Rose Noire- “Feed”

You guys know how I feel about visual kei. But damn, that violin. New track off their long out of print debut album Apocalypse to be reissued in December(!).

Soredemo Sekai ga Tsuzukunara- 「参加賞」

This is a story of a girl who is in an abusive relationship who tries to kill herself. Yeah, if you don’t want to feel today why don’t you listen to some anime music instead.

Kaseki Cider- “Ryuuju no Dengon”

Kaseki Cider covers “Ryuuju no Dengon” from the classic Miyazaki anime Kiki’s Delivery Service on his new album, which is actually 100% anime covers. Sounds like a fun time to me!

Rokushiki- “Rokudenashi Disco”

Alice in Wonderland, the Rokushiki way! Basically the same Alice you’re used to, but with more mechanical girl and video game references.

My Shoes My Cap- “i&i”

A short blast of ska punk from My Shoes My Cap with each band member having their own camera on them in this split screen video. It’s all about me, me, me!

St. Clair- “All From Here”

It’s a party rock anthem from St. Clair all about skipping class to smoke grass and drinking alcohol on the weekends. Gotta be cool for high school!

The Aprils- “High Flying Girl”

Step! Slide! Twist! I don’t know if The Aprils are trying to invent a new dance craze, but it’s a catchy tune.
