What time is it?  It’s Friday.  Time for videos and junk.  Let’s do this shit.

STRAIGHTENER- “Man-like Creatures”

I’ve listened to ent and I’ve listened to FULLARMOR, but for some reason I’ve managed to avoid Mr. Horie’s bread winner STRAIGHTENER.  And that’s a shame because “Man-like Creatures” is indie-rock goodness.  Full of epic soundscapes and dreamy verses. I guess all that’s left to say is HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THE WORLD.

Umberbrown- “Everlasting Truth”

Apparently, Audioleaf has their own record label and Umberbrown is their first signing.  Umberbrown is your typical screamo band–long hair, tight jeans, the occasional pop hook.  The PV is equally dark and gritty, but I did get a kick out of the flock of birds at the end.

mudy on the 昨晩- “Youth”

It’s nice to listen to post-rock that doesn’t drone on for 10-20 minutes (*cough* Mono).  This is mudy on the sakuban’s first single.  It’s a poor video compared to Ozis, but it’s nice to see a post-rock band accomplish something in under 5 minutes for a change.

andymori- “City Lights”

And you thought all the videos this week would be doom and gloom!  Here is the bright and sunny new PV from andymori from their second album due out next month.

UNCHAIN- “The World Is Yours”

This sounds like it could be an anime theme song!  Really I enjoyed this video.

HEY-SMITH- “Drug Free Japan”

Screaming and a horn section, just what I like.  And it even has a good message!  Stay off the drugs kiddies.

Nostalgia Seven- “自画像”

Give it up for some more indie-rock!

Agitato- “Lucky”

Okay, this is the closest we’ve gotten to J-pop here in a while.  I’m not quite sure why I added this, but they remind me of a cross between BACK-ON and TM Revolution.

Avnel- “Liar City”

I used to be a big fan of public access music video shows and this video reminds me of some of the local stuff they would play.

Secret 7 Line- “My Hero”

Let’s end this with some fist pumping pop-punk!
