J-Rock Fridays Vol. 82
October 19, 2012Everybody’s looking forward to the weekend.
kindan no tasuketsu- “Toumei Kan (Album ver.)”
Japan’s brightest new indie band has released a new version of their first PV in time for the release of their debut album. The album version of “Toumei Kan” contains 100% less furries but otherwise sounds the same as the original, which was apparently co-written with beat maker Idiot Pop who also just released an awesome dance album.
nego- “Dog Sweeper”
Dog racing’s not just for vodka commercials anymore! Rocking among the rock formations is instrumental band nego who produces an aggressive dance beat while a bone thin dog scavenges for food or something.
Quattro- “Loyal Isolation”
Quattro’s last PV for “Last Dance” contained no dancing but they’re making up for it now with sexy ballet and their drummer’s smooth moves. A little different from what we’ve come to expect from Quattro with a bunch of violins and a funky chorus.
RIZE- “Local Defense Organization”
Yay for product placement! Who knew Stride bubblegum supported J-Rock bands? In any case, RIZE wants you to always remember 311 and support your local superheroes.
Suneohair- “Slow Dance”
Who needs love when you can have a missile-firing robot carrying you around town while you eat your cereal?
The Bawdies- “Lemonade”
Another one of those “let’s drop behind the scenes footage in the middle of the video” PVs. Another vintage rock and roll tune from The Bawdies.
group_inou- “9”
Baseball season is coming to an end but don’t feel blue. Cuddle up with group_inou’s new album and some Adachi manga.
Ogre You Asshole- “Suteki Na Yokan (different mix)”
OYA’s new video almost feels like porn with all the pumping and swirling going on but without the climax. Another too long single but considerably better than their previous.
Silent Siren- “Sweet Pop!”
Cute girls, oh my! I like to think of Silent Siren as the real life equivalent of Afterschool Tea Time from K-ON!
Frying Dutchman- “Chinpun Kanpun”
Frying Dutchman likes to play with toys. Mostly farm animals and wieners but you get the idea. Makes me want to stage wars with my action figures again like when I was 5…
LOKA- “Slick”
It’s a little too cold outside to have bikini girls wash your car but LOKA has you covered until the vampires come out.
Geeks- “Jasper”
Welcome to the island of misfit toys err geeks and indulge in pizza and symphonic punk rock.
