J-Rock Fridays Vol. 65
February 24, 2012Fun fact: J-Rock Explosion turns 5 years old today! I didn’t plan anything special but here’s a new J-Rock Fridays.
ASPARAGUS- “Analog Signal Processing”
Second PV from Asparagus’ 5th album, which only took 5 years to come out. Good to have you back.
the telephones- “D.E.N.W.A”
Two things the telephones love: songs about disco and spelling things out. Dial it in with “D.E.N.W.A.”
sleepy.ab- “Andromeda”
I posted the short PV on Tumblr earlier this week and now we have the full PV for this sorry excuse for a column. Traverse the solar system with the peaceful sounds of sleepy.ab.
The Waybark- “Zombie Papa”
Awesome, another zombie J-Rock video! Looks like Daichi needs to find new bandmates…
te’ – 音の中の『痙攣的』な美は、観念を超え肉体に訪れる野生の戦慄。
What’s more fun than a new instrumental rock tune from te’? Translating their long as hell album and song titles! Get to it.
Arukara- “Mix Juice”
Vampire fruits. Let’s make juice. Lemon. Orange. Avocado.
Back Drop Bomb- “Progress”
Welcome to the ocracy of ska.
Psysalia Psysalis Psyche- “My Dinosaur”
Psysalia Psysalis Psyche is explosive! Run away, turkeys.
Ryo Hamamoto & The Wetland- “Sally Lee”
Ryo Hamamoto does his own artwork on his Macbook Pro. Good for him!
paionia- 素直
Paionia shows us the night in the life of your average cross dresser. Looks way more depressing than liberating.
TsuShiMaMiRe- “Kuufuku to Kuuhaku”
Fun fact: TsuShiMaMiRe was the first Japanese band I saw live (still a small list though). I only caught the last 5 minutes but I know where the ballroom at the Hyatt is now. TsuShiMaMiRe’s new album is already out in Japan but Good Charamel will be releasing it in the states this spring.
Yahchaika- めのう
Tatami rock! Of course, the girl is the one with the keyhole.
Anoice- “finale”
How about some archival war footage set to gloomy post-rock with a little opera in the background to end your day? Mushroom cloud explosion!
