J-Rock Fridays Vol. 49

July 8, 2011

I cut my finger on a slurpee lid. That was embarrassing.

クリープハイプ- 欠伸

クリープハイプ (creep hype?) knows the city is shady. Keep a bat with you at all times!

Africaemo- “City Boy, City Girl”

Africaemo paints the city neon. Sounds like a mash up of 54-71 and the telephones.

Homosapiens- “Girlfriend”

Great song with awesomely nostalgic guitars. Not your average visual kei band after all.

She Talks Silence- “Vanished Vacances”

These girls are pretty cute (Pink Floyd undies?) until they get all True Blood on your ass. Great fake out!

Alfred Beach Sandal- “Camping Car Is Dead”

Let’s calypso to old horror movies!

SuiseiNoboAz- “E.O.W.”

A lot of blood and gore this week. At least SuiseiNoboAz gets their Nirvana moment.

Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas- “Jump Around”

It’s summer. Why not put on flip flops and do your screams poolside?

LITE- “Rabbit”

Neat video but I swear I heard that piano line in some horror movie.

The Ton-Up Motors- “Joyful Singin'”

The Ton-Up Motors makes me want to dance in the middle of the street.

Plastic Girl In Closet- “Collage Flowers”

Plastic Girl is still shoegazing; in the dark this time.

musiquo musiqua- すみっこ

Evidently their bassist is wearing a Perfume tour shirt. Even cool indie bands like Perfume!

Countlost- “Calling”

I want to see the light in your eyes.

kidori kidori- “Say Hello!!(I’m not a slave)”

Bringing polka dot shirts back in stlye.

Led Naked- “Da Da Da”

Da, da, da. Need we say more?
