James Kobe- “Happy”
Boku wa happy! It scares me when I can understand a lyric in Japanese. But damn did this video make me happy.

I actually watched this video from beginning to end, twice. If this is the kind of stuff NCIS is going to churn out, Ellegarden can stay dead.

Be-be-be-bebe-beee-beeee-be-be-bebebebebe-beeeeeeee-be
I’ve been listening to Shugo a lot lately, mainly his new album Port Entropy. “Rum Hee” is from that album and last year’s EP. Probably one of his more mainstream songs, but I love the birdcalls in the background.

Do-do-do-dododo-do-dodo-dododo-do.
Get your glowsticks and rock downhill with the Yonrinsha boys.

Welcome back. I have a feeling that it doesn’t matter whether or not I comment on these videos or not, but I did. But I left a couple for you to do. Hey, I even brought the poll back! We’ll see how that goes.
Time to start dragging my favorites to the top of the list. This is, dare I say, epic.

I’m kind of surprised how hard hit I was by Jun Seba’s death, but I still managed to check out a few new videos for you guys.
Northern19 is back with another feel good punk-rock anthem. Hits the spot with this warm weather we’ve been having.

It was a little hard compiling a list of bands this week, seeing as capsule released their new album on Wednesday and that’s all I’ve been wanting to listen to, but I managed to find 11 anyway. Have fun.
Sakanaction’s new single isn’t very dancey. I was not expecting a power ballad from this band, a seven minute power ballad for that matter. I guess we know why this wasn’t the first single.

I was considering skipping J-Rock Fridays for the Olympics, but that wouldn’t be much of excuse considering all I’ve been watching are Yes, Dear repeats and my History Channel shows. So here’s this week’s half-hearted J-Rock Fridays column.
Who is that dorky punk rocker who sings of the Sex Pistols? The world may never know.

Welcome to J-Rock Fridays the 13th. Unfortunately, it didn’t land on Friday the 13th, but at least I didn’t feel compelled to compile another “scary videos” column. A little less videos this week. Get used to it.
This song is so bright and happy. There’s nothing else I can say. If you like a little folk in your indie-pop this is your new favorite song of the year.
