On his first album, oono yuuki got tired of singing folk music and invited his friends over for a jam session. The resulting tracks were far and away the highlights of that album. He does the same on the first single off Tempestas, recruiting 8 of the brightest minds in Japan for this epic collaboration. If Yuuki would drop the solo act and form a real band with these guys they’d be a major force in the indie scene.
Leave it to GRAPEVINE to take a seemingly innocent song and make a traumatic video about a group of men up against the wall waiting to get gunned down. At least they went to “heaven.”
There’s a lot to go through this week so let’s! get! it! started!
THE Dakishimeruzu- “I wanna be your boyfriend”
THE Dakishimeruzu is not afraid to thrash around in the mud. Let’s just get dirty and have fun. Their second album was released last November, so this extra long PV is a good reminder to check it out.
Call in the clown jester! I first heard of NEW ROTE”KA when Toru Hidaka’s super group TV Murders did a song for their tribute album but never got around to listening to it. I guess they’ve been around a while. Who could hate the clown?
Looks like my J-Rock Fridays playlist that I never advertised or mentioned to anyone hit 500 views the other day. Good to see I’m doing better on YouTube than here.
OCEANLANE- “Submarine Volcano”
Well this is the first time I’ve seen Kay Naoe sing lead in a single. It’s about time they used his boyish good looks.
