Posting this in the AM for a change. Is it still Friday in Japan? Last new J-Rock Fridays of 2011!
SKAYWAY- “Here Comes Santa Claus”
Christmas is in a couple of days. Why not start off with a couple of Christmas songs? SKAYWAY loves ska and Christmas songs so much they just released an entire album of ska Christmas covers (get Jingle belling). This band doesn’t seem to exist elsewhere on the internet so maybe they’re Santa’s little helpers after all.
The HIATUS are back from their hiatus with this Where the Wild Thing Are inspired video. I’m actually surprised how much I like this song. Must be the underlying flutes.
I don’t feel like making a Halloween themed J-Rock Fridays this year. Maybe you’ll find some spooks anyway.
The Suzan- “Devils”
Hey, I thought you said there’s no Halloween J-Rock Fridays this year? Just a well timed video from The Suzan! Fun fact: Lykke Li sang backing vocals on this track.
There’s a lot to go through this week so let’s! get! it! started!
THE Dakishimeruzu- “I wanna be your boyfriend”
THE Dakishimeruzu is not afraid to thrash around in the mud. Let’s just get dirty and have fun. Their second album was released last November, so this extra long PV is a good reminder to check it out.
There’s a lot of saxophone on the radio these days, it only makes sense for 6eyes to sax up their new single. Plus there’s a lot of cool things in this video, like a crossdressing drummer and a disgruntled office worker who grows dreadlocks overnight.
